In spring it’s all about local, wild salmon from the nearby Sonoma coast, baby lamb from the farmer up the road, pea shoots from the chef’s garden and fava beans from a Healdsburg neighbor. Summer brings heirloom tomatoes and herbs from the Bartolomei ranch, just down the road and fresh cheeses from the local goat dairy.
A decadent, two-course breakfast, dreamed up and prepared by Catherine and breakfast chef Trevor Boosinger, is served to guests in the Farmhouse dining room overlooking the inn gardens, or out on the patio. Breakfast starts with house-made pastry and fruit. Hot scones, full of blackberries from the garden or flaky sweet cream biscuits slathered with house-made Meyer lemon curd or Sonoma organic lavender honey, may be the pastry of the day.
Entrees are farm-fresh, too and simply delicious. Eggs Benedict, Farmhouse Breakfast Farmhouse-style, with eggs fresh from the Bartolomei farm, locally smoked ham and fluffy hollandaise is a Farmhouse favorite. If you like something a bit sweeter, try their signature French Toast with Mascarpone cheese and poached orchard pears, served with organic maple syrup and locally made chicken and apple sausages.
