The Citizenry Collection

Founders Carly Nance and Rachel Bentley believe that our homes should be reflections of the journeys we take. Personal spaces deserve designs with a soul, a story, and a purpose. They travel the world to develop exclusive collections of home goods, partnering with master artisans and blending their modern style with time-tested techniques.

The partners set out to build a company that celebrates the people behind their products. Their name is a reflection of the collective of individuals – artisans, designers, and dreamers – who rally together across cultures and continents to craft their exclusive collections.

“Each season, we create a curated collection of home goods inspired by and ethically sourced from another corner of the world. Our Peru & Argentina collection, which includes luxurious alpaca textiles and handcrafted leather chairs, highlights the best materials and techniques each country has to offer,” Nance and Bentley explain.

“By personally traveling to each country and using only local materials, we establish sustainable relationships with our artisans. We sell directly to you online–there is no middleman. This is how we’re able to offer handmade goods, crafted with the highest quality materials, at more reasonable prices than traditional luxury boutiques.”

Every dollar you spend supports fair wages, happy working environments, and a direct investment into artisan entrepreneurs. The Citizenry invests 10% of proceeds directly back into artisan communities through Entrepreneur Development Grants. These grants help their partners take their crafts and their businesses to new places.
