Hotel Cheval in Paso Robles Wine Country

Hotel Cheval offers a welcoming haven for travelers visiting California’s central coast. This elegant, European-style hotel is located almost halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles on scenic Highway 101 and is situated just off the charming and historic Paso Robles Central Square Park.

With only 16 rooms, Hotel Cheval is designed for guests to enjoy themselves by one of their intimate outdoor stone wood-burning fireplaces, a quiet respite in the library with a good book, or with friends in the Pony Club, the Parisian inspired horseshoe-shaped zinc Bar.

Owners Robert Gilson and his wife Sherry first came to the area years ago and purchased a horse ranch as a weekend retreat from their home in Montecito. Working with Santa Barbara interior designer Ann James, they created an inn that is both casual and elegant and a quiet place to relax after a long day of wine touring.

Visitors to Paso Robles quickly find that it is a very special place. Famous for its world-class wines, charming downtown, and welcoming ambiance, Paso Robles has a long list of attractions and is close to the wine trail that includes quality wineries like Justin, Treana, L’Adventure, Tablas Creek, Linne Calodo, and many more.

Area attractions include Lake Nacimiento and Lake San Antonio, vibrant Farmers Markets, golf courses, State Fair at The Paso Robles Event Center, historic Missions San Miguel and San Antonio de Padua.

Perhaps the most renowned: Hearst Castle which attracts almost one million visitors a year, just 45 minutes from Hotel Cheval Paso Robles.

After dreaming of the Paso Robles Wine Country, relax in the morning with a leisurely sleep-in while enjoying the newspaper, and some local delicacies complete with a piping hot beverage of your choice, all delivered discreetly to your room.

On weekends you will enjoy a delicious breakfast in the cozy Pony Club, or outdoors in the courtyard.

Looking for something a bit heartier? Wander down the street and stop in Panolivo for egg specialties and fresh baked pastries, or McPhees in Templeton is just a short 15 minute drive.
