Santa Barbara's guide to what's new and undiscovered for home and garden, entertaining, style and travel. The resource guide below lists local happenings, boutique finds, travel destinations, food artisans and design professionals.

Healdsburg Shed Opens

SHED stocks quality food – mostly locally sourced in the Healdsburg/Napa/Sonoma communities – as well as beautiful, enduring tools for the kitchen, farm, and garden. SHED products reflect their enthusiasm for traditional, forgotten tools and tastes; the hand-crafted and the homemade; the tried and true, the everyday, and the classics.

Healdsburg Shed’s evolving collections are seasonal and sometimes fleeting…available one time only. Many products have histories and stories; aspects that the owners and staff enjoy sharing with their customers.

SHED’s pantry features produce and flowers: organic vegetables and fruits delivered daily by local farmers; hand-made herb bouquets and fresh tisanes; bunches of just-cut flowers. In the larder you’ll find house-made soups and stocks, farm fresh eggs, smoked fish, cured meats and farmstead cheeses, as well as a selection of prepared foods to take home. A wide-ranging collection of tools includes USA-made field workers’ harvest knives, sickles and saws from Japan and hand-forged garden tools from England.

SHED is a café, coffee bar and fermentation bar.

Located in middle of the space the café features an open kitchen, wood oven and house-made products. The daily changing menus are inspired by what’s in season and reflect a commitment to local farmers and producers.

From your morning coffee or nourishing lunch to an end of the day glass of wine, they have many ways to sustain their guests.

At the heart of SHED’s purpose and design is their second floor meeting room: the Grange. It is a modern interpretation of the time-honored agrarian center, bringing people together for a range of events focused on food and farming. SHED is a community resource for learning.

SHED’s calendar of events includes a variety of happenings: from talks featuring noted thinkers, artists and authors to workshops on food crafts, gardening and farming, sustainable living.

The goal at SHED is to inspire, educate, engage and delight.
