The wineries represented in the Ballard Inn Tasting Room rotate seasonally.
Local Attractions and Activities
Rent mountain bikes, provided by Wheels for Fun, at the Inn and staff will be happy to suggest several routes that are ideal for beginner to advanced riders.
Take an afternoon stroll around the neighborhood and discover the charming Ballard’s Little Red School House, built in 1882 and still in operation today. The Ballard Country Church is an idyllic setting for weddings and celebrations.
Just a few minutes away, Seein’ Spots is small family farm that breeds and sells Mediterranean miniature donkeys. The Marchi family raises the very finest miniature donkeys, having sought out proven bloodlines from all over the country. The farm was originally The Ballard Apple farm with over 800 apple trees. They now have 80 trees with 12 different varieties, some of them antique varieties from Europe.
Families have been coming to the farm to pick apples for many years, and the picking season runs from late August to November. The family cares for a variety of animals and has rescued many animals including goats, turkeys, ducks, a zonkey, a mule, a pot belly pig, and a giant tortoise.

River Course at the Alisal – a 6,830 yards, the par-72 course is challenging but not punishing. The strategic placement of a variety of hazards rewards length and accuracy without severely penalizing casual and recreational golfers. The moderate central California climate and meticulous maintenance provide excellent year-round playing conditions.
Maverick Saloon – Visit a real “cowboy bar” and participate in their seasonal offerings such as western dance lessons, NFL night, live local music or comedy night.
Windhaven Glider Rides – The Santa Ynez Valley is one of the most picturesque gliding areas in the country. Surrounded by mountainous national forests, beautiful Lake Cachuma and the valley itself is dotted with vineyards and world class horse facilities.
Theater – Central Coast’s resident professional theater company PCPA Theaterfest is an outdoor seasonal theater located in charming Solvang.
