Christopher Teasley Interior Design

Christopher Teasley Interior Design is known for decorating sophisticated yet comfortable interiors for a discerning clientele. Designing and furnishing architectural interiors involves an insightful understanding of clients’ tastes, lifestyles, collections and properties. Clients often request Christopher Teasley Interior Design to plan interior spaces as well as design interior architecture, cabinetry and custom furniture.

Christopher Teasley Interior Design was established in Santa Barbara in 1983. The majority of residential and commercial projects have been in Montecito and Santa Barbara, however Christopher Teasley’s design projects have taken him from Palm Beach to Napa, to the shores of Hawaii and throughout California. Cohesive and enduring interior design is the norm regardless of the client, job site or architecture.

Projects include an oak-studded ranch in Sonoma, a traditional family home in the mid-west, a contemporary, pied-à-terre in San Francisco, an art-filled beach house in Malibu and a refined, modern retreat on the northern California coast.

Santa Barbara, CA

This long-time residence of an active couple is privately situated among oaks and boulders in the foothills of Santa Barbara. Traditional and peaceful describes this retreat where expansive 10-foot glass doors and walls allow for ample light and views of the landscaped property.

The owners’ tastes and lifestyle are reflected in an eclectic and personal collection of art and antiques and an uncluttered, balanced approach to furnishings.

The Sea Ranch, CA

Long-time clients asked Christopher Teasley Interior Design to oversee the planning, construction and furnishing of a refined, modern retreat on the northern California coast.

The clients’ preference for both stone and warm colors manifested in stone-colored, porcelain floor tiles along with Australian eucalyptus hardwood; teak doors, closets and cabinetry throughout; colorful glass tiles in bathrooms; the occasional, concrete counters and the bold use of steel and bronze.

A collection of paintings and photography was assembled for the clients including a diptych painting of a nearby river that slides apart revealing a flat screen television.

Sonoma, CA

Owners of this Sonoma home, originally furnished by Christopher Teasley Interior Design, wanted to give their primary residence a more sophisticated look. CTID coordinated a complete transformation of the interior architecture and design that included furnishings, art, windows, doors, flooring, staircase design, cabinetry, bathrooms, and lighting.

Favorite pieces of art and furniture of the clients were altered and reintroduced into what is now a stunning, light-filled home with ample views of the garden.

Whether specifying finish materials such as flooring or lighting for new architectural spaces or simply establishing the decor for a client’s dining room, the goal at Christopher Teasley Design is to provide comfortable, thoughtful interior design for their clientele.

He and his team are utterly reliable, and a delight to work with.

It has been a pleasure to work with Christopher Teasley Interior Design twice on our residence in Sonoma and on a new home at The Sea Ranch. The teams that we assembled included talented architects, lighting consultants and contractors. We would not have achieved the same results without the coordination and oversight provided by Christopher and Stephen. The process of furnishing our homes has been inspired, creative, and methodical. The look of both homes is distinctive, comfortable and pleasing beyond our expectations.
